Abstract
This entry includes phosphomevalonate kinase Erg8 from fungi and plants. Budding yeast Erg8 is involved in step 2 of the subpathway that synthesizes isopentenyl diphosphate from (R)-mevalonate [ 1 , 2 ]. Arabidopsis Erg8 (AT1G31910, also known as PMK) is involved in the mevalonic acid pathway [ 3 ].
