Abstract

Non-lysosomal glucosylceramidase, also known as beta-glucosidase 2 (GBA2) is an enzyme involved in an alternative catabolic pathway of glucosylceramide [ 1 ]. GBA2, has been characterised as a bile acid beta-glucosidase [ 2 ]. It is unrelated to other known glucosidases, but it has homologues among bacteria and archaea [ 3 ].
