This entry represents a domain found towards the N-terminal region of mandelate racemase and muconate lactonizing enzyme. These enzymes share a bidomain structure containing a capping domain and a C-terminal barrel domain. The N-terminal domain forms part of the capping domain [ 1 ].

This domain is also found in a variety of other enzymes, including D-galactonate dehydratase and D-mannonate dehydratase.
