General Information

  • Identifier IPR011940
  • Description Meiotic recombination protein Dmc1

Abstract

Dmc1 is a meiosis-specific RecA homologue [ 1 ]. It is a recombinase required for interhomologue recombination and double-strand break repair during meiosis [ 2 , 2 , 3 , 4 ].

2. Tid1/Rdh54 promotes colocalization of rad51 and dmc1 during meiotic recombination. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 97, 10814-9
3. Random chromosome segregation without meiotic arrest in both male and female meiocytes of a dmc1 mutant of Arabidopsis. Plant Cell 11, 1623-34
4. Hop2/Mnd1 acts on two critical steps in Dmc1-promoted homologous pairing. Genes Dev. 21, 1758-66
