General Information

  • Identifier IPR011402
  • Description Phospholipase D, plant

Abstract

This entry represents the plant phospholipase D (PLD), a calcium-dependent enzyme that hydrolyses glycerol-phospholipids at the terminal phosphodiesteric bond. Arabidopsis PLD has been implicated in plant response to macronutrient availability [ 1 ]. PLD alpha 1 from Setaria italica (foxtail millet) has been linked to drought tolerance [ 2 ].

2. Overexpression of a PLDα1 gene from Setaria italica enhances the sensitivity of Arabidopsis to abscisic acid and improves its drought tolerance. Plant Cell Rep.
