Abstract

This family consists of several plant specific phytosulfokine precursor proteins. Phytosulfokines, are active as either a pentapeptide or a C-terminally truncated tetrapeptide. These compounds were first isolated because of their ability to stimulate cell division in somatic embryo cultures of Asparagus officinalis [ 1 ].
