Abstract
These eukaryotic proteins recognise the poly-A of mRNA and consist of four tandem RNA recognition domains at the N terminus followed by a PABP-specific domain at the C terminus. The protein is involved in the transport of mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm [ 1 ]. There are four paralogs in Homo sapiens (Human) which are expressed in testis [ 2 ], platelets ( Q13310 [ 3 ]), broadly expressed ( P11940 [ 4 ]) and of unknown tissue range ( Q15097 ).
