Abstract
This entry represents a group of dNTP triphosphohydrolases, which is an class of enzymes capable of hydrolyzing deoxynucleoside 5'-triphosphates (dNTPs) into the corresponding deoxynucleosides and tripolyphosphate (PPPi) [ 1 ]. They can be classified into three subgroups [ 2 ]:
- Type 1: represented by E. coli dGTPase and Q9I4L1 , which preferentially hydrolyzes dGTP without an activator [ 3 ].
- Type 2: represented by Q5SL81 , which hydrolyzes multiple kinds of dNTP upon activation by binding of an activator [ 3 ].
- Type 3: represented by Q9HZG5 , which hydrolyzesmultiple kinds of dNTP without an activator [ 4 ].
