Abstract
This domain is a putative nucleic acid binding zinc finger and is found at the N terminus of proteins that also contain an adjacent XS domain IPR005380 and in some proteins a C-terminal XH domain IPR005379 [ 1 ]. Proteins containing this domain include protein SUPPRESSOR OF GENE SILENCING 3 (SGS3), which is required for post-transcriptional gene silencing and natural virus resistance [ 2 , 3 ].

2. SGS3 and SGS2/SDE1/RDR6 are required for juvenile development and the production of trans-acting siRNAs in Arabidopsis. Genes Dev. 18, 2368-79
