Abstract

NADH-plastoquinone oxidoreductase subunit I ( 1.6.5.3 ) catalyses the conversion of plastoquinone and NADH to plastoquinol and NAD(+). The enzyme binds two 4FE-4S clusters at iron-sulphur centres which are similar to those of the bacterial-type 4FE-4S ferredoxins.
