Abstract
This entry represents a subfamily of ABC transporter permease subunits. In Q7DD59 it is involved in L-glutamate import into the cell [ 1 ]. In Q8L4R0 it is involved in lipid transfer within the cell [ 2 ]. In P64606 (MlaE) it is involved in phospholipid transport as part of the Mla system, whose role is preserving outer membrane lipid asymmetry [ 3 ]. Many bacterial species have one or two members from this family. The Mycobacteria have large paralogous families included in IPR030802 , but excluded from this subfamily [ 4 , 4 ].
