Transient expression of GFP translational fusion protein suggests bipartite localization in nucleus and cytoplasm. KNAT4 promoter activity showed cell-type specific pattern along longitudinal root axis; GUS expression pattern started at the elongation zone, predominantly in the phloem and pericycle cells, extending to endodermis toward the base of the root.
