Abstract
The GAMYB protein from rice is a transcriptional activator of gibberellin-dependent alpha-amylase expression in aleurone cells. It plays an important role in floral organ development and is essential for pollen development [ 1 ].
This entry also includes MYB33 and MYB65 proteins from Arabidopsis. They are transcriptional activator of alpha-amylase expression that binds to 5'-CAACTGTC-3' motif in target gene promoter [ 2 ]. Together with MYB65, MYB33 facilitates anther and tapetum development [ 3 ].
