INSTALLATION OF TREECON IN A VIRTUAL WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT
The most recent Microsoft Windows operating system TREECON will install on, is Windows XP. If you want to install TREECON on Windows 7, you'll have to set up a virtual Windows environment and install the application there.
There are many ways to do this. A few suggestions:
VirtualBox
If you have a copy of Windows XP available (either on CD or as an .iso
file), VirtualBox, the virtualization software by Sun/Oracle, can be recommended:

It's quite easy to install, allows you to create a virtual hard drive
and install your copy of Windows XP there.
You can then install TreeCon in this environment. VirtualBox allows for
a "seamless" mode which integrates virtualized applications into your
Windows 7 desktop.
Integrated Virtual Windows XP
Wine
Another, more adventurous, option would be to run the program remotely
on a linux server.
TreeCon still seems to run fine using the wine
platform. This could then be X-forwarded to a Windows 7 pc using
Xming.
